Liverpool Fans Drop Verdict on Milos Kerkez After Man City 3-1 Bournemouth

Following on from Liverpool’s Premier League title win in Arne Slot’s first ever season at Anfield, the club have wasted little time trying to strengthen their squad and give themselves the best chance to retain their crown at the top of the division. Jeremie Frimpong is already on his way and Florian Wirtz is said to be on their radar heading into the summer.

Another player that the Reds are expected to make a move for once the transfer window opens up is Bournemouth’s Milos Kerkez. The full-back has impressed for the Cherries throughout the 2024/25 campaign as they’ve exceeded expectations and shone under Andoni Iraola. With Andy Robertson struggling for Liverpool, Kerkez is reportedly the left-back that Slot and company have identified as his replacement.

As such, Liverpool fans have taken a great interest into how he performs throughout the season and a large portion of them tuned into Bournemouth’s Premier League match with Manchester City on Tuesday night. Pep Guardiola’s side came out on top with a 3-1 victory, but Kerkez’s performance has left Liverpool fans with plenty to say.

Playing against City is never easy. Guardiola’s side is filled with explosive attacking talent and they are capable of giving any defender a tough time. That was the case for Kerkez. The left-back had a rough night against City and gave a performance that left Liverpool fans unimpressed. They took to social media during and after the game to share their opinions on the defender and they didn’t hold back.

One fan jumped on X (Twitter) and wasn’t happy with what they saw, comparing Kerkez to Alberto Moreno. They said: “Not convinced by Kerkez at all. Reeks of Alberto Moreno,” while another posted: “Seeing Kerkez tonight I’m not impressed at all tbh.”

A third supporter didn’t beat around the bush, simply posting: “Kerkez stinker here.” A fourth said: “Not sure kerkez is a 50 mill full back. Looks average but can run.”

The defender was eventually dragged off in the 83rd minute after a disappointing performance. He lost possession on 11 different occasions, connected with just two of his six attempted crosses and even played a part in one of City’s goals. It wasn’t the best impression to make on Liverpool fans and a portion aren’t quite as excited about a potential move to Anfield as they were before the game.
