Liverpool is anxiously awaiting news on the fitness of Jayden Danns after the young striker suffered another unfortunate injury setback.
Danns, who captained the U21 side in the Premier League 2 game against Ipswich on Saturday, was forced to leave the pitch just over half an hour into the 3-2 defeat. The 19-year-old is set to undergo medical examinations to determine the severity of his injury, but has already been ruled out of the midweek Champions League trip to Galatasaray.
Danns had previously been on the bench for Liverpool’s 3-2 victory over Atletico Madrid in the competition two weeks ago and made a substitute appearance in the last 15 minutes of the 2-1 League Cup triumph over Southampton at Anfield last week.

The forward was scheduled to spend the latter half of last season on loan at Sunderland, but his campaign was prematurely ended by a back issue that necessitated further rehabilitation over the summer.
Rob Page’s Liverpool players were already trailing due to a solo goal from Somto Boniface when Danns was forced off, and found themselves 2-0 down before half-time when Tudor Mendel netted for Ipswich from a corner.

However, the visitors rallied in the second half, with Keyrol Figueroa heading in Kaide Gordon’s corner and Trent Kone-Doherty forcing an own goal from Ipswich defender Leon Elliott.

The Tractor Boys, however, had the final word with a decisive goal from Corbin Mthunzi six minutes from time.
Earlier in the day, Simon Wiles’s U18 team bounced back from last week’s 8-3 drubbing at home to Blackburn with a 3-0 victory at Leeds.
