Liverpool legend thinks Alexander Isak and Florian Wirtz could be sold next summer
Didi Hamann has warned Alexander Isak and Florian Wirtz that Liverpool could look to sell the pair next year if they don’t improve. The Reds twice broke the British transfer record last summer to sign both players, first agreeing a deal worth up to £116m to land the German from Bayer Leverkusen before parting with £125m to sign the Swede from Newcastle United on transfer deadline day.
However, the pair are yet to live up to their hefty price-tags with Arne Slot’s men ultimately struggling during the first half of the season.
Isak has struggled with fitness issues, having endured a disrupted pre-season at Newcastle in a bid to force through an exit, and has scored just one Premier League goal since joining Liverpool.

Making 15 appearances in all competitions, he boasts two goals in total for the Reds but remains some way off top form, having had to play catch-up following his move to Anfield after a summer spent training on his own.
Meanwhile, Wirtz has shown signs of improvement as he continues to adapt to the Premier League following his return from injury after the November international break. But he is yet to produce a goal contribution in the English top-flight since joining Liverpool, with his overall Reds record standing at zero goals and three assists from 21 appearances.
Liverpool are currently enjoying a five-game unbeaten run in all competitions following morale-boosting victories over Inter Milan and Brighton & Hove Albion, and sit seventh in the Premier League table heading into the festive period – two points off the Champions League places.

GOAL! Liverpool 1-0 Man City (Szoboszlai, 74)
HE’S DONE IT AGAIN!
An absolutely sensational free-kick goal from Dominik Szoboszlai. This one might be even better than the one against Arsenal.
From a central position, around 25 yards out, it’s an absolutely sensational hit which swerves out of reach of Donnarumma, who doesn’t even dive, and slams into the net off the post.
Amazing. And what could that mean for the title race? Arsenal staying nine points clear as it stands.
