Liverpool target Marc Guehi could be on the move this month

Oliver Glasner has said Marc Guehi could be sold this month if his “threshold” is met. It has been widely claimed in recent days that Manchester City are weighing up a bid for the England international, with Palace thought to want £40m for their captain despite his contract expiring in the summer.

Guehi is out of contract at the end of the season, having almost joined Liverpool back in September. A £35million move to Anfield collapsed on deadline day when Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish pulled the plug on the deal at the eleventh hour after failing to secure a replacement.

Meanwhile, reports from Italy claim that Juventus were considering re-signing Federico Chiesa from Liverpool. And in France, it is being claimed Bradley Barcola could have a real chance of leaving Paris Saint-Germain in the summer.

Fulham request PGMOL explanation after offside controversy

Marco Silva says Fulham have contacted the Professional Game Match Officials Limited over Florian Wirtz’s controversial goal for Liverpool on Sunday.

Wirtz had appeared offside for his equaliser against the Reds at the weekend, but the goal was given following a VAR review.

And Silva said: “I have more images, different tools. I cannot believe how that goal was allowed, it was a clear offside.

“Look back four weeks, Crystal Palace at home, Emile Smith Rowe’s goal disallowed but less than five centimetres that time.

“Who was talking about five centimetres then? What happened this game? I still don’t understand.

“I’m a big believer that at the end of the season everything should be balanced. It is part of the game, good and bad decisions, for me, players, officials.

“The reality is we have been very unlucky in things that are not grey but black and white.

“We are still waiting for feedback from the Premier League. It was clear. It’s much more than 5cm.”

Arne Slot drops Marc Guehi transfer hint

Arne Slot has reiterated he is “really happy” with his squad and intimated Liverpool may not move for Marc Guehi in the current transfer window. The Reds agreed a £35million deal for Guehi on deadline day in September only for Crystal Palace to pull the plug at the last minute.

Liverpool remain interested in the England international and are among a number of clubs planning a pitch to the player when his contract at Selhurst Park expires at the end of the season.

The landscape, though, has potentially changed with one of those suitors, Manchester City, having suffered an injury crisis at centre-back and Palace boss Oliver Glasner admitting on Tuesday the player could be sold this month at the right price.

Semenyo ‘set to have’ City medical

Antoine Semenyo has been linked with a move to Liverpool – but he is now set to have a medical at Manchester City in the coming days.

That’s according to the BBC, who are reporting that City have agreed to meet Semenyo’s £65m release clause, which must be activated by January 10.

They also report that the Bournemouth winger is due to have his medical after the Cherries’ game against Tottenham Hotspur tonight.

Barcola ‘could leave PSG’

Bradley Barcola was a key part of PSG’s UEFA Champions League-winning side – but now it is being claimed he could leave the Parc des Princes this summer.

According to L’Equipe journalist Loic Tanzi, via Get French Football News, there are now doubts about Barcola’s long-term future at PSG after he was linked with a move away from the club last summer.

Bayern Munich and Liverpool were both linked with a move for the 23-year-old last summer.

Hugo Ekitike injury latest

Arne Slot has revealed Hugo Ekitike is a big doubt for Liverpool’s game against Arsenal.

Ekitike played no part in his side’s 2-2 draw with Fulham on Sunday due to a hamstring issue.

And Slot has now revealed the forward could also miss the game at the Emirates. He said: “Hugo has not trained with us until now let’s see if he can today.

“I’ve said when we played Fulham he wasn’t going to be out for long but as games come too fast.”

Chiesa linked with Italy return

Federico Chiesa continues to be the subject of continued transfer speculation – and now reports in Italy are once again linking him with a move to Juventus this month.

Both Gazzetta dello Sport and Corriere dello Sport, via Sport Witness, are reporting that Juventus have made contact with Liverpool to land the winger.

It is then claimed by Corriere dello Sport that the Azzurri player’s agent, Fali Ramadani, will be in Italy in the coming days to discuss the possibility of Chiesa returning to his homeland.

Glasner drops Guehi transfer bombshell

Oliver Glasner has said Marc Guehi could be sold this month if his “threshold” is met.

It has been widely claimed in recent days that Manchester City are weighing up a bid for the England international, with Palace thought to want £40m for their captain despite his contract expiring in the summer.

And Glasner has now revealed: “Everybody wants that he plays for Crystal Palace, signs a new contract and stays here for ever.

“On the other side, there’s the situation that the contract ends in the summer and if somebody is coming, there will be a moment when the club says: ‘Now the financial issue is more important than the sport issue.’ We have to do it and try to get the best. That’s why I’m always saying: ‘I don’t know.’ Because this is different.

“There will be a threshold where the club has to say [sell] … If the player says: ‘I want to leave’ and the money is above the threshold, it will happen. I’m not so naive not to know that if a massive offer comes from City and Marc wants to do it, it will happen.”
