What happened in the first leg?

Just like Cher sings so brilliantly, it’s time for us to turn back time.
It feels like a lifetime since Tottenham and Liverpool competed in the first leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final.
For Spurs, those really were the ‘good old days’…
A lot of people wrote them off going into that night, including me. Liverpool were supposed to run through them again like they did in December.
But no, despite having a decimated squad, Spurs put in a performance to be proud of to take a lead going into the second leg at Anfield tonight.
However, the game wasn’t without controversy.
Lucas Bergvall netted the winner for Ange Postecoglou’s side, but a debate raged on over whether he should have even been on the pitch.
Nevertheless, he was, and now Liverpool have a lot of work to do if they are to make it to Wembley.
Can Spurs hold on, or will Liverpool come back?
