News Mohamed Salah scores twice as Egypt qualify for World Cup
Mohamed Salah scored twice to help Egypt seal qualification for the World Cup.
The Liverpool forward netted a double in Wednesday’s 3-0 victory over Djibouti, which confirms his country’s place at next summer’s finals as winners of Group A in the CAF section of qualifying.
Salah made it 2-0 on the quarter-hour mark with a close-range finish before rounding off a comfortable win with a sublime volleyed lob late on.
He is therefore set for a second appearance at the World Cup finals after 2018, when he scored twice in two appearances as Egypt were knocked out in the group stage.
