Pep Guardiola responds to Man City SACK IN THE MORNING Chant calls and hits out at Liverpool fans they won only….

Guardiola was unable to arrest Manchester City’s slide on Sunday afternoon, with the reigning Premier League champions losing away to runaway league leaders Liverpool

Manhester City manager Pep Guardiola joked that those calling for his dismissal might have a point after yet another defeat – and also criticised Liverpool supporters.
City fell 11 points behind league leaders Liverpool with their defeat at Anfield on Sunday. Cody Gakpo fired the Reds in front in the first half, with Mohamed Salah clinching victory from the penalty spot.
It was a fourth straight league defeat for City, and a seventh match without a win in all competitions. Not only have they fallen further behind their rivals, but they have ended the weekend outside the top four after being overtaken by Arsenal, Chelsea and Brighton.
There have been chants of “You’re getting sacked in the morning” during the dismal run, not just in the game at Anfield. Guardiola recognised this, and suggested he could see where they are coming from given what rival fans have seen on the pitch.

“All the stadiums want to sack me, it started at Brighton!” Guardiola told Sky Sports. “Maybe they are right with the results we’ve been having.
“I didn’t expect that at Anfield. They didn’t do it at 1-0, but at 2-0. Maybe they should have sung it in the past. I didn’t expect it from the people from Liverpool but it’s fine, it’s part of the game, and I understand completely. We’ve had incredible battles together. I have a respect for them.”
City have won the Premier League in each of the last four seasons, and Guardiola was asked about whether that run might end in 2025. “I said before this game that we weren’t in a position to think about targets but the season is long,” he said.
“We have to think about making results and then some players will come back and then we’ll be better and we’ll believe maybe. There are many things to fight for and we’re going to try.”
