Paris Saint-Germain star Gianluigi Donnarumma suffered a serious facial injury after being struck by the studs of a Monaco player in their Ligue 1 clash.
The Italian goalkeeper had saved an effort from Wilfried Singo in the first half of the match at the Stade Louis II.
Donnarumma was struck in the face by the boot of Singo after making the save, suffering multiple cuts to his face.
The 25-year-old required medical attention following the collision, but was ultimately forced off in the 22nd minute to be replaced by Matvei Safonov.
Donnarumma walked off the pitch after being treated by PSG’s medical staff.
‘Sending our best wishes to Gigio, who suffered a serious facial injury and had to leave the match in the first half,’ PSG wrote on social media

The Monaco star avoided a second yellow card after Donnarumma was struck by his studs
Singo avoided punishment for the challenge from referee Francois Letexier for his challenge on Donnaruma.
The Monaco defender escaped a second yellow card having already been booked in the 14th minute for a foul on Desire Doue.
French outlet RMC Sport shared images of Donnaruma’s face after receiving treatment for his injuries.
The goalkeeper reportedly required 10 staples following the cuts on his right cheek.
Donnaruma had stayed in the tunnel until half-time to remonstrate with the referee over the lack of sanction for Singo’s challenge.
The Italian has made 15 appearances for PSG so far this season, keeping four clean sheets.
The reigning French champions earned a 4-2 win against Monaco on Wednesday.
Doue had opened the scoring for PSG in the 24th minute, before Eliesse Ben Seghir and Breel Embolo struck in the second half to turn the match around for Monaco.
