According to Italian media outlet Calciomercato, Liverpool have decided to part ways with Federico Chiesa less than one year after signing him.
A return to Serie A is a strong possibility, although the winger would have to agree to a salary cut. Liverpool would even be open to loaning the player out.
He has failed in England’: Italy head coach delivers brutal Federico Chiesa verdict
Liverpool signed Chiesa for a bargain €15 million fee. However, he was never given a proper chance, playing a total of just 387 minutes across 11 appearances this season.
The 27-year-old does not feature prominently in Arne Slot’s plans. It was made obvious after the head coach chose to bring on a partially fit Cody Gakpo over Chiesa in the return leg against PSG in the Champions League.
