There are concerns Madueke may have suffered a season-ending injury – and now an injury expert has spoken out

Noni Madueke: Injury Expert Casts Verdict Amid ACL Fears

An injury expert has cast his verdict on Noni Madueke amid concerns the Arsenal winger may have suffered an ACL injury during Sunday’s Premier League 1-1 draw against Manchester City.
The 23-year-old, who joined Arsenal in a £48.5 million deal from Chelsea in July, was replaced by Bukayo Saka at half-time. Footage posted to X (Twitter) shows Madueke limping as he walked down the tunnel at the end of the first half. Watch the footage below:
The Evening Standard confirmed on Monday that Madueke was undergoing a scan on his knee, while rumours began to swirl on social media suggesting the England international may have suffered a serious ACL injury.
“Noni Madueke had discomfort at half time in his knee,” @ConMarbleHalls tweeted. “Due to undergo scans today fears of a ACL If fears are confirmed likely to miss huge chunk of the season. Hope he’s ok started so bright with us this season.”
Meanwhile, additional footage posted to X shows that moment that may have caused the injury to Madueke. Watch below:

Now, football injury analyst Physio Scout has tweeted with their verdict after reviewing footage of the first half. The tweet reads:
“In regards to Noni Madueke being sent for scans – I’ve skimmed through the first half and it’s hard to say that any event could have caused an ACL injury.
“Yes, it seems like he was in some discomfort in his knee, but he might have just been sent for precautionary scans on the knee issue.
“Please take any rumours with a pinch of salt. Happy to be proven wrong with any clips – would update analysis.”
A reassuring message for Arsenal fans, who will be desperately hoping that any injury Madueke may have suffered proves to be far less serious than feared. However, the club will still be sweating on an official website.
Madueke is currently in the process of proving his doubters wrong at the Emirates Stadium. Many supporters were initially skeptical about the decision to sign the winger following a topsy-turvy season at Stamford Bridge.
But just weeks into the 2025-26 campaign and the Englishman, who recently scored his first international goal, has already shown exactly why Mikel Arteta was so determined to bring him to north London.
