TODAY TOP TRANSFER: Arsenal have four striker options in January transfer window including two Prem stars

Arsenal are on the hunt for reinforcements up front after struggling to score against Manchester United.
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is in desperate need of some more firepower in attack
Arsenal were unable to make the most of their numerical advantage during their FA Cup third round defeat to Manchester United on Sunday as they lost to the Red Devils on penalties. The Gunners just couldn’t find the back of the net after United had been reduced to 10 men, despite creating opportunities.
Arsenal’s struggles in front of goal illustrated their need for a new striker during the January transfer window.
And Express Sport takes a look at four attacking stars who they could attempt to land this month to ensure their season doesn’t peter out over the coming months.
Alexander Isak
Alexander Isak is in the form of his life this season and has already netted 15 goals off the back of a campaign that saw him register 25 goals in all competitions.
The 25-year-old is a proven goalscorer in the Premier League and would be a far superior option up front for the Gunners compared to the players Mikel Arteta currently has at his disposal.
Isak still has another three-and-a-half seasons remaining on his contract at St James’ Park, so Arsenal would have to break the bank to complete a deal this month. But it would be money well spent.
Arsenal would need to table a huge offer to prise Alexander Isak away from Newcastle
Victor Osimhen
Victor Osimhen was heavily linked with a move to the Premier League last year following an incredible season with Napoli. But he was eventually shipped off to Galatasaray on loan after pushing for a move away from the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium.
The 26-year-old has continued his rich vein of form in Turkey after bagging 13 goals and six assists in 17 appearances for his current side.
But he would likely jump at the chance to prove he can deliver the goods in Europe’s fiercest league. And Napoli are believed to be keen to cash in on the Nigeria international.
Jhon Duran
Like Isak, Jhon Duran is another striker who has shown he has what it takes to succeed in the Premier League.
The 21-year-old Aston Villa striker has notched 12 goals across three competitions this term, despite the fact he has only started seven matches.
He has been forced to play second fiddle to Ollie Watkins, but could attempt to force a move away from Villa Park if Unai Emery isn’t able to guarantee him starts throughout the second half of the season. It would take another big offer for a transfer to be considered, but his situation in the west Midlands means a January move is by no means off the table.
Jonathan David
An easier target for Arteta’s side may be Lille frontman Jonathan David. The 24-year-old Canada striker has banged in 11 goals in Ligue 1 and four more in the Champions League this term after striking 26 times last season.
He is out of contract in the summer, which means he is free to agree a pre-contract with Arsenal immediately.
But if the Gunners put some money on the table, Lille may consider sanctioning the player’s early exit to ensure they don’t lose him for nothing in a few months.
