TODAY TOP TRANSFER NEWS 》Arsenal handed huge Viktor Gyokeres transfer update as Sporting CP agreement reached

The latest Arsenal transfer news as the striker is available at a fee lower than his €100m release clause due to an agreement between the player and the club.
An update has been given on Viktor Gyokeres amid Arsenal transfer links.
Arsenal have been given an update in their pursuit of Sporting striker Viktor Gyokeres this summer, with the player reportedly reaching an agreement with his current club over his sale.
The Gunners are expected to be on the lookout for a striker in the summer transfer window. Injury to both Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz means that the side have to cope without a recognised striker for the remainder of the season.
Even before the injury blow, Mikel Arteta was keen to add more reinforcements in the position, with the current situation only strengthening that. Gyokeres is one of the strikers who has been linked, with Arsenal keeping an eye on the Sweden international .
The 26-year-old has scored 40 times in 41 appearances for Sporting so far this season. He is reported to have a €100 million (£83.6m) release clause in his contract.
However, as has been previously reported, Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg has confirmed that the club and the player have a verbal agreement that he will be allowed to leave for €60-70 million (£50.2m-£58.5m) in the upcoming transfer window.
There has also been surprise links to Champions League chasing Nottingham Forest in recent days, but the journalist has shut those down by stating the the striker will not join the Reds.
Manchester United are another club who have been linked with an interest in the striker, due to former Sporting boss Ruben Amorim now being in charge at Old Trafford. However, the club’s current position in the table means that the lack of Champions League football is likely to put them behind in the transfer race.
Gyokeres’ international boss Jon Dahl Tomasson has backed the striker to be successful in the Premier League if he is to make a move this summer.
“Gyokeres would be fantastic in the Premier League,” he said ahead of Sweden’s match against Northern Ireland on Tuesday night.
“He could play for any club in the world and he would score a lot of goals anywhere. Him and [Alexander] Isak are two quite different players, but they’re both world-class strikers.”
