Blockbuster deals in the pipeline ahead of the new season
Targets: Benjamin Sesko, Eberechi Eze and Alexander Isak
Transfer news LIVE!
Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United are among the clubs making big moves in the transfer market ahead of the new Premier League season. After finally wrapping up the signing of Viktor Gyokeres, Arsenal are stepping up their interest in Eberechi Eze and are expected to soon make an opening bid for the Crystal Palace star.
Liverpool have changed their stance once again over Alexander Isak and are now considering a second bid after their opening offer worth £110million was rejected by Newcastle. In a fresh twist, the Reds are reportedly lining up a move for Rodrygo in a blockbuster deal with Real Madrid. Newcastle and Manchester United could go head-to-head to sign Benjamin Sesko, with Ruben Amorim seeking a top-level striker and Eddie Howe seeing a £70m bid rejected.
Chelsea are in talks to sign Xavi Simons having agreed a £38m fee for Jorrel Hato, who has undergone a medical with the Blues. Tottenham are set to sign Joao Palhinha on loan from Bayern Munich and will then look to sign another attacking player as captain Heung-min Son prepares to join LAFC. Kahn: No one can replace MUller
Oliver Kahn has told German outlet Kicker that no one can replace Thomas Muller at Bayern Munich.
The attacking midfielder left the Allianz Arena as a free agent this summer and is expected to finalise a move to MLS side Vancouver Whitecaps.
Former Bayern goalkeeper Kahn has said that a player like Muller comes along once in a blue moon.
“In the course of its history, Bayern Munich has always replaced the great players,” Kahn said.
“However, now I don’t see anyone who can play the role of Thomas Müller.”

Arsenal are interested in 19-year-old Rennes defender Jeremy Jacquet.
The Gunners are said to have “made initial contact” over a move for the French centre-back.
Jacquet is reported to be being lined up by Arsenal in case defenders leave Emirates Stadium this summer, or with a view to a deal next summer.
Jacquet recently signed a new contract with Rennes until 2029.
Spurs want to replace Son with Rodrygo
Tottenham want Rodrygo to replace the outgoing Heung-min Son.
With their skipper expected to join LAFC this week, Spurs have space in their squad for a new superstar on the win and AS report that chairman Daniel Levy is plotting an audacious move for the Real Madrid man.
The same Spanish publication have already reported that Spurs are ready to either meet Real Madrid’s €90m request or his €10m per year salary demand, which is less than Son’s salary.
Spurs are said to have already contacted Real Madrid as they wish to speak to Rodrygo to gauge his

Son says emotional Spurs goodbye
Thomas Frank has confirmed Heung-min Son has probably played his last game for Tottenham.
After announcing he will leave Spurs this summer, Son captained Spurs for the final time as they played Newcastle in a pre-season friendly in his native South Korea.
Son was smiling as he walked off the pitch after being substituted in the second half but he started crying when he sat down on the bench and fans started chanting his name.
He is in advanced talks to join MLS side LAFC but has described the decision as “the most difficult one I have made in my career”.
“I think it’s very likely Sonny’s last game because it’s very close,” said Frank.
Lookman confirms he has handed in transfer request
Ademola Lookman has handed in a transfer request at Atalanta after facing what he says is poor treatment at the Italian club.
The England-born Nigeria international was Atalanta’s second-highest scorer in Serie A last season, netting 15 goals, prompting interest from Inter Milan.
Lookman, who has one year left on his contract, wrote in a letter shared on social media that he had agreed with the club ownership that he would be allowed to move if there was a fair offer.
“Despite now receiving an offer in alignment to what I believe had been discussed sadly the club are blocking the opportunity for reasons I do not understand,” he wrote.
“After many months of broken promises and what I feel has been poor treatment towards me as both a human being and as a professional footballer, sadly I feel I have no choice but to speak out… I can confirm I have now handed in a formal transfer request.”
Partey set to join La Liga club
Former Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey is set to join La Liga club Villarreal on a one-year contract.
Spanish outlet Dario AS report that Partey is set to sign for Villarreal following his Arsenal exit.
Partey has been charged with five counts of rape and one count of sexual assault.
He denies the charges and his lawyer has said he “welcomes the opportunity to finally clear his name”.
Partey is due to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday and the report says the deal being completed could depend on his court case.
