Transfer News LIVE – every rumour, every done deal: Florian Wirtz Liverpool medical Booked Gyokeres latest, what can Arsenal spend?

Now that the domestic season is over for all major European leagues, clubs can now focus on their preparations for the 2025/26 campaign, with a natural focus on recruitment.
Article continues under the video
The big spenders will be out in force again, with Real Madrid looking to back new boss Xabi Alonso, Chelsea keen to improve again after securing Champions League qualification, and Manchester United desperate to reclaim some kind of success after a disastrous season that saw them finish just three places above the relegation zone in the Premier League.
The Red Devils are on the cusp of announcing the signing of Matheus Cunha from Wolves, while Madrid will complete a deal for Dean Huijsen of Bournemouth soon.
With the Club World Cup on the horizon, we will likely see big deals completed earlier than usual from Europe’s elite.
Some questions that will hang over the transfer window this season:
How can Man City replace Kevin De Bruyne?
Will Rodrygo leave Real Madrid?
How much can Barcelona spend?
Will top players want to join Man Utd?
Can Arsenal sign a world-class striker?

Chelsea will have to pay top dollar for striker target
Chelsea must break the bank if they want to sign Hugo Ekitike from Eintracht Frankfurt.
The Frenchman is a wanted man by some of Europe’s elite following his exploits this season as he scored 22 goals and provided 12 assists for the German side over the course of the campaign.
Chelsea are desperate for a new centre-forward and want Ekitike to become their marquee summer acquisition, but The Athletic reports they’ll need to pay a cool €100 million to land his signature.
Barca trigger release clause of Arsenal target
Barcelona have apparently triggered Joan Garcia’s release clause.
The Espanyol goalkeeper was one of the best stoppers in La Liga this past season and actually came close to joining Arsenal last summer only for the deal to fall through.
The Gunners remain interested, but they’ll need to act quickly if they want to pursue Garcia as AS reports that Barca have triggered his €25 million release clause.
Xabi Alonso keen to keep Rodrygo?
It seems new Real Madrid coach Xabi Alonso doesn’t want Rodrygo to leave which will come as a blow to a few Premier League sides.
The Brazilian has been linked with a move away from the Spanish capital, apparently unhappy with his status at the club following the arrival of Kylian Mbappe and the presence of the likes of Vinicius Junior, Jude Bellingham and now even Endrick vying for minutes. He was left out of the squad for the final Clasico of the season, though he posted images on social media suggesting he was injured.
Arsenal, Chelsea and Man Utd have been linked, but Alonso wants Rodrygo to stay, as he said at his unveiling yesterday:
“He’s a Madrid player and I will have a conversation with everyone because we need to do so. We’ll get to know each other. He’s a spectacular player and we need him.”

What Leverkusen have said about Wirtz and Liverpool
In case you missed it, below is what Leverkusen sporting director Simon Rolfes said about Florian Wirtz potentially joining Liverpool:
“He is one of our players and he continues to be at the moment. It’s unquestionable that there’s interest, that’s of course being reported a lot, some things are true, some things were certainly wrong in the last few weeks. That’s why we’ll see, it’s an open topic with Florian and it’s known that there’s concrete interest from Liverpool, but at the moment there is no new status.” (The Athletic)

Newcastle look to HIJACK Delap’s United move
Newcastle haven’t given up hope of signing Liam Delap from Ipswich despite Man Utd being in pole position to land the young striker.
Delap will leave Ipswich this summer thanks to a relegation clause in his contract, with United, Newcastle, Chelsea, Everton and Aston Villa all said to be interested in a deal.
Recent reports suggested Old Trafford was Delap’s chosen destination, but TeamTalk have revealed that Newcastle boss Eddie Howe has made it a personal task to try and convince the player to join his team instead.

Arsenal fear Alexander-Arnold style exit for Lewis-Skelly
Arsenal are worried that they may lose Myles Lewis-Skelly on a free transfer to Real Madrid in a similar fashion to Trent Alexander-Arnold’s exit from Liverpool.
The 18-year-old only signed his first pro contract with the club this season and that expires next summer, with negotiations ongoing over an extension and pay rise.
However, the player and his camp are concerned that his playing time drastically reduced once Bukayo Saka returned from injury as he previously recorded plenty of minutes in the first half of the campaign. On the Football Weekly podcast, Jonathan Wilson suggested Real Madrid are keeping an eye on the situation.
“[Arsenal] have got to sort out Myles Lewis-Skelly’s contract which expires next summer, and I think talks have not been going well from what I hear, and Real Madrid are sort of sniffing around there,” he said.
“Imagine Real Madrid wanting a highly-rated Premier League fullback for free, almost unimaginable isn’t it?”

City step up search for De Bruyne replacement
Man City will lose one of their greatest ever players this summer as Kevin De Bruyne will depart on a free transfer.
Pep Guardiola isn’t wasting any time looking for a replacement, though, as City will look to Milan’s Tijjani Reijnders for a big-money deal.
The Mail reports that they will need to pay at least £55 million to land the Netherlands international, however.
