Deadline Day is finally upon us as a remarkable summer window prepares to close. There are a number of huge deals still in the works, with Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham all hoping to get new signings confirmed before tonight’s 7pm deadline. The biggest deal of the whole summer will see Alexander Isak join Liverpool for around £130million after a British record fee was agreed overnight between the two clubs. Arne Slot also wants Crystal Palace captain Marc Guehi for £35m.

 

Arsenal are set to conclude a very successful summer with a loan-to-buy deal for Piero Hincapie, who will be announced as Mikel Arteta’s eighth signing of the window. The Gunners also want to ship out the likes of Jakub Kiwior, Reiss Nelson, Oleksandr Zinchenko and Albert Sambi Lokonga. Manchester United are working on two goalkeeper signings, with talks ongoing for both Emi Martinez and Senne Lammens with the view to completing just one deal as Manchester City look to secure the services of Gianluigi Donnarumma.

 

Chelsea’s striker situation has become quite murky, with Nicolas Jackson’s loan move to Bayern Munich cancelled and Marc Guiu recalled from Sunderland in light of Liam Delap’s injury. The Blues also hope to confirm the loan signing of Facundo Buonanotte and have interest in Fermin Lopez. Elsewhere, Tottenham still want to sign another winger and defender, with Manchester City pair Savinho and Manuel Akanji linked along with Randal Kolo Muani. A busy day looms at West Ham, where there are expected to be a number of incomings and outgoings.

 

Lucas Paqueta seems to be staying put despite the push from Aston Villa, though Nayef Aguerd, Guido Rodriguez, Emerson and Andy Irving could all be on the way out.

 

Aguerd looks to be heading for Marseille along with Emerson and Fabrizio Romano now reports that West Ham want to replace him with Brighton’s Brazilian centre-back Igor.

 

The Hammers have also been linked with the likes of Charlie Cresswell and Taylor Harwood-Bel

 

Man City expected to sign Donnarumma amid Ederson sale

 

Both Manchester clubs look set to sign a new goalkeeper today.

 

It will seemingly be either Emi Martinez or Senne Lammens for Manchester United, while Manchester City are reportedly still expected to close a high-profile deal for PSG and Italy star Gianluigi Donnarumma.

 

First they need former long-time No1 Ederson out the door, with the Brazilian said to have agreed a €14m move to Fenerbahce after previous interest from fierce rivals Galatasaray.

 

However, David Ornstein now says that it’s actually the other way around – Ederson will only leave once Donnarumma arrives.

While Piero Hincapie should be the final incoming at Arsenal, a total of five players could yet depart the Emirates Stadium on Deadline Day.

With Hincapie’s arrival, Jakub Kiwior is set to join Porto on a loan deal that will become permanent next summer.

 

Arsenal are also working on exits for Albert Sambi Lokonga, Fabio Vieira, Oleksandr Zinchenko and Reiss Nelson.

 

Lokonga looks set to join German side Hamburg, who are in advanced talks over a permanent deal for the midfielder.

Arsenal are confident of wrapping up a deal for Bayer Leverkusen defender Piero Hincapie before Monday night’s transfer deadline.

 

The versatile Ecuador international travelled to London on Sunday to undergo a medical and finalise an initial loan move to the Emirates Stadium.

 

The deal contains an option for a permanent £45m transfer next summer, which the Gunners are expected to activate.

 

 

Man Utd agree Antony deal with Real Betis

 

Antony is poised to leave Manchester United ahead of the transfer deadline.

 

Along with Alejandro Garnacho, Jadon Sancho and Tyrell Malacia, the Brazilian winger has formed part of the so-called ‘bomb squad’ at United who have not been part of the first-team squad this summer as they each seek moves away from the club.

 

Real Betis had Antony on loan in the second half of last season and have been trying to secure his return, though finances have been a problem thus far.

 

However, The Athletic’s David Ornstein now says that despite still wanting another loan, the LaLiga outfit have now agreed a permanent transfer worth €25m with a huge 50 per cent sell-on clause.

 

United will not pay any termination fee to Antony, who cost them £86m when he followed former boss Erik ten Hag from Ajax to Old Trafford three years ago.

 

 

Tottenham back in for Randal Kolo Muani

 

Tottenham have reportedly made a late push to sign Randal Kolo Muani from Paris Saint-Germain.

 

The French forward previously looked set to join Spurs in the January transfer window after rival interest from Manchester United, though eventually opted for a loan to Juventus instead.

 

The Serie A giants have been struggling to agree another deal with PSG for the 26-year-old, which could open the door for Tottenham in a reverse of what transpired over the winter.

 

According to Fabrizio Romano, Spurs have made a fresh approach for Kolo Muani in the last 24 hours.

 

Tottenham are also looking for a new centre-back today amid ongoing links to Manuel Akanji at Manchester City, among others.

Facundo Buonanotte looks set to complete his shock move to Chelsea on Deadline Day.

 

Blues fans were surprised to learn on Friday that the club had once again returned to Brighton in order to agree a straight season-long loan deal with no buy option for the 20-year-old Argentine winger, who had looked set to join newly-promoted Leeds earlier in the week.

 

Buonanotte – relegated from the Premier League with Leicester last season – is believed to have undergone a medical and will finalise his switch today.

 

 

Chelsea recall Guiu after Jackson loan cancelled

 

Chelsea have reportedly agreed a deal with Sunderland that will see Marc Guiu return to the club imminently.

 

The Blues have been scrambling to find a solution to their new striker problem before the deadline after Liam Delap suffered a hamstring injury against Fulham on Saturday that is set to keep him out for some time as he nervously awaits a scan.

 

Nicolas Jackson has been left furious after his proposed loan move to Bayern Munich was scrapped at the 11th hour after Christopher Nkunku had already sealed his permanent switch to AC Milan.

 

Chelsea were said to be considering another new signing up front to join Joao Pedro and further mitigate the impact of Delap’s absence or in case Jackson still departed, with enquiries said to have been launched for the likes of Conrad Harder at Sporting.

 

But The Telegraph report that an agreement has now been reached to recall Guiu from a season-long loan at Sunderland that only started earlier this month and did not include a break clause in this window.

 

 

 

Arsenal medical for Hincapie ahead of loan move

 

Arsenal look set to wrap up a deal for Piero Hincapie on Deadline Day.

 

The versatile Ecuador defender is set to join the Gunners from Bayer Leverkusen on an initial season-long loan that includes the option for a permanent transfer next summer worth £45m.

 

Hincapie said goodbye to Leverkusen over the weekend and travelled to London yesterday in order to finalise his switch to the Emirates Stadium, though it was reported that he still had not received permission to undergo a medical as talks between the clubs continued.

 

However, that should all happen smoothly today, with Jakub Kiwior in turn joining Porto and the likes of Oleksandr Zinchenko, Albert Sambi Lokonga, Fabio Vieira and Reiss Nelson also poised to leave Arsenal.

 

Man Utd in double talks with Martinez and Lammens

 

Emi Martinez wants to join Manchester United before tonight’s summer transfer deadline, reports claim.

 

Yesterday, it was reported that the Red Devils had approached both the Argentine and Aston Villa as a potential goalkeeper contingency plan if their ongoing talks with Royal Antwerp over Senne Lammens did not bear fruit.

 

There has been talk of a fresh bid for Lammens, while Fabrizio Romano reports that Martinez has now agreed personal terms with United and told Villa – for whom he did not play again last night – that he wants to complete the move.

 

Jadon Sancho could yet head in the opposite direction, while interestingly it is said that Lammens could now be a target for Villa if Martinez goes to Old Trafford.
